Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (IATA: CDG, ICAO: LFPG) (French: Aeroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle), also known as Roissy Airport (or just Roissy in French), in the Paris area, is one of the worlds principal aviation centres, as well as Frances main airport. It is named after Charles de Gaulle (1890a€“1970), leader of the Free French Forces and founder of the French Fifth Republic. It is located within portions of several communes, 25 km (16 mi) to the north-east of Paris. The airport serves as the principal hub for France national airlines.
Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the major hub airport to the north-east of Paris. There are three terminals:
Terminal 1, Terminal 2 (which is subdivided into 2A through 2G), and Terminal 3 (formerly T9). Terminal 2G which is a separate building and is only reachable via navette/bus in 10-15min . The free CDGVAL shuttle train connects the terminals together.In 2014, the airport handled 63,813,756 passengers and over 550,000 aircraft movements, making it the world’s sixth busiest airport in terms of passengers and Europe’s busiest (world’s seventh busiest) airport in terms of aircraft movements. Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport is also Europe’s largest airport by size.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport connects to Paris:
By train: The airport is 14 miles from the heart of Paris. RER trains a€“ an express Metro service a€“ run to the city every 15-minutes or so. The journey takes around 35 minutes. Take Line B from Charles de Gaulle TGV station at Terminal 2 towards Gare de Nord and Metro connections.

- Buses run every 10 minutes between Place Charles de Gaulle and Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminals 1 and 2. Approx journey time: 40 minutes.
- Services run every 30 minutes between 07:00-21:30 and Montparnasse. This journey takes about 50 minutes.
- Roissybuses serve all three terminals from the Opera district of central Paris every 15 minutes between 6:00 am and 10:30 pm. Approx journey time: 45 minutes.By taxi: A taxi between central Paris and the airport takes about 45 minutes. Chauffeur-driven limousines are available for hire between the airport and central Paris.
