- Description
Vine-lined valleys along a route which glorifies wine, the Vosges mountains on one side and flat farmland on the other, Alsace has many faces. But it has one common feature – the stork, the region’s emblem. It flies over villages, overlooks squares and bids you welcome with its kindly beak.
In Mulhouse, history is everywhere you look. In religious buildings, on walls, oddly in spinning mills, bizarrely in foundaries and classically in museums. And, of course, in the streets. A culture, which is festive, classical or contemporary but also very much a part of everyday life.
OK, so today we’ve decided to take it easy. We’ll go for a stroll and see what there is to explore, so let’s head for… Oh, but there’s so much to choose from. Come on then, shall we sit down on the terrace and have a think?
