Carrier Category: Airline Companies
- Description
On April 15, 1926, Charles Lindbergh flew the first American Airlines flight–carrying U.S. mail from St. Louis, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois. Some 8 years later American founder C.R. Smith working with Donald Douglas created the DC-3, a plane that changed flying from mail to passengers. AA has come a long way since then, flying its first revenue flight with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on May 7, 2015.
Today American Airlines Group, Inc. is one of the largest airlines in the world, with more than 6,700 daily flights to 350 locations in 56 countries worldwide. AA is a founding member of the oneworld® alliance, whose partners offer about 14,000 flights daily to 1,000 destinations in 150 countries.
Serving Asia, American Airlines and Japan Airlines (JAL) coordinate fares, services and schedules and offer customers reciprocal frequent flyer benefits and grant eligible customers access to the airport lounges of both airlines. Similarly for Europe, AA has a joint venture with British Airways, Iberia and Finnair governing flights and giving customers access to more than 100 destinations throughout North America with one-stop connections serving 29 destinations in North America and 25 destinations in Europe, operating nearly 100 routes between the two regions.

- When to Book your Reservation
Flight companies practice floating fairs. In other words, when there's more demand the price is increased. As a result, the closer to flight date generally the higher the price. Best time to purchase airline tickets depends on the market, the airlines and whether it's domestic or international. For overseas you'll be looking at a window about 3 months ahead of your departure. For domestic more like a good month in advance. Here are a couple of articles to help you understand how it works. One from AirHelp and the other from CNBC. Whether it's International or Domestic get the best pickings from our partner site which compares best prices across the board.
