You can generally book a Eurocity ticket up to 90 days before departure. The cheapest fares are those booked as early as possible for travel at less frequented times: Mondays through Thursday and Saturday.

- Service Classes
With 1st class a quieter atmosphere, ample space, free WiFi, and comfortable seating await you on board ICE services – ideal for working or relaxing. Many seats have power points, and specially designated areas provide interference-free enhanced mobile phone reception. Look out for the mobile phone symbols in the carriages.
At-seat service when ordering food and drink from our on-board menu, or when requesting the daily newspaper. On the ICE Sprinter, we also serve 1st class passengers a small snack and soft drinks (coffee, tea, mineral water, orange juice) free of charge at their seats.
- Mobility access
Eurocity trains are equipped for those with reduced mobility. DB staff, members of the Travellers’ Aid Society and other social services are available to provide assistance at approx. 300 stations. All assistance provided by DB staff and the Travellers’ Aid Society is free of charge.
- Luggage
The luggage service of Deutsche Bahn allows passengers to travel without having to look after their luggage the whole time.
Your luggage can be sent from door to door in Germany (airport, hotel or home address) with a specialized luggage service. Otherwise, you can travel with your pets and lots of luggage. It's a delight!On board: Eurocity has luggage areas for your bags next to your seat, overhead and at each end of your car for bigger bags. You should label them with your name and address.
Luggage trolleys can be found at key points near stations and platforms. They are free to use but you might need a 1 Euro coin to access them... returned when you're finished.You can take your bike on Eurocity trains. You'll need a bicycle reservation as well as a bicycle ticket which you can do when purchasing your own ticket. You can use these for all Eurocity trains within the German transport system.

Report misplaced items on the train or at the station to our lost and found department up to four weeks prior to the current date. Following a thorough search should we locate the misplaced item, we will contact you immediately. Fill out an online lost and found report form at bahn.com

- Food, Snacks & Drinks
Some EuroCity trains have a bistro offering light snacks and meals. A wide selection of hot and cold drinks is also available. On many trains, the staff also serves passengers at their seat with light snacks and drinks.
- Pets onboard
Passengers can bring small dogs (e.g. the size of a domestic cat and smaller) free of charge if using a carrier for transportation. If your dog cannot be transported in a carrier, you simply need to buy a half-price ticket, so it can travel by train.
