    Service Levels:

TGV trains are designed for your well-being and comfort with onboard conveniences, personalized services, and include a variety of pleasing, welcoming spaces designed for your travel comfort.

SNCF trains that require reservations have two options:
    > 1st class: You can choose a single seat, two seats side by side, or a group of four seats

    > 2nd class: You can choose side-by-side or facing seats

In some cases, you can also choose to sit in forward- or rear-facing seats, as well as on the upper or lower level of the train.

Other amenities include: ergonomic adjustable seats in both 1st and 2nd class, reading lights, recharging outlets for electronic devices at every 1st class seat and many 2nd class seats. There are folding trays for your computer or a meal. There's plenty of luggage space and food services.

    Mobility Access:

France Train stations are open day and night as long as there are departures and arrivals. They do close at night when there is no train traffic, even in the major Paris stations. You cannot spend the night in a train station waiting for an early morning departure.

To access your train, look for the Information Boards, generally electronic nowadays, in the station. There are separate Boards for Departures and Arrivals. They are arranged in chronological order and will have information if there is a delay. For Departures look for your platform ('quai' in French) from which your train departs. To get to a platform you might have to take a passageway UNDER the tracks, this will be indicated.

When travelling from A to B, you might have to change train and the timetable could indicate you only have 7 or 10 minutes to do so. This is easy to do. Just gather your belonging and wait beside the door to be the first off the train and then look for an information board to find your new train and its platform. I suggest you ask one of the train agents for information before you board your first train or on the train when they check your ticket. Often, they can tell you the new platform.

You can travel with your pets, bike or lots of luggage. It's a delight!

Whether you have a single carry-on or several suitcases, your luggage is easily handled both in the staion and on board.

On board: TGV has luggage areas for your bags next to your seat, overhead and at each end of your car for bigger bags. You should label them with your name and address.

Porters: Because of 'baggage with wheels' they’re not too available anymore. However at Paris Gare de Lyon station tjeu cam help carry your luggage. You'll identify these porters by their “Service en gare” badge. This service is free of charge.

Trolleys: Luggage trolleys can be found at key points near stations and platforms. They are free to use but you might need a 1 Euro coin to access them... returned when you're finished.

    Lost Property:

Lost property in stations and trains is kept for one month in the lost property office of the station in which the item was retrieved or the destination station for objects forgotten in the train.

Perishable or dangerous substances are immediately destroyed.

The lost property offices are authorized to receive declarations of losses.
Now, you can draw up a declaration of loss online.

A national database of objects found in trains and stations compares in real time the objects registered by the SNCF personnel in the station and the objects declared as lost by customers.

The searches continue for at most one month from the date of declaration of loss.

If your object is found, you are informed of this by email or by phone.

You can then retrieve it in the station where it was delivered or receive it at home if you wish.

Your object will be returned to you upon presentation of identification and in return for the payment of a retrieval tax of 5€ or 10€ depending on the value of the object. This tax contributes to the administrative costs of the Lost Property service. Shipping expenses will also be charged if it is sent to your home.

If the object is not returned to the owner within a period of 1 month, it will be handed over to the Administration des Domaines (government department which manages state-owned land and property), disposed of to a charitable organization or destroyed.

    Food Service:

When travelling 1st class with TGV France-Italie your ticket includes the scrumptious in-seat dining service.

You will enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the comfort of your own seat.

All TGV trains have a café-bar designed to be a relaxed, friendly space just right for having coffee. Excellent for a chat with colleagues or friends or for enjoying a hot meal whle catching up on news. TGV menus are innovated regularly to present you with fresh seasonal foods and exciting taste sensations.

The café-bar has options from a couple to ten+ Euros, and you can save 15% on specially selected menus using your current SNCF railcard: Enfant+, Jeune, Week-end or Senior+.

You'll easily find the café-bar in your TGV: Car 4 or 14.

Whether it's still or sparkling water, a soda, coffee or tea or a biscuit a slice of cake or a sandwich the choice is yours—the on-board food and beverage cart will serve you directly at your seat.

Small dogs, cats and other small pets (kept in the appropriate container no larger than 70x30x50) are admitted free of charge in the first and second class of all categories of trains and Executive, Business, Premium and Standard levels of service.

Each traveller is allowed to transport a dog of any size, kept on a leash and muzzled after purchasing a second-class ticket with a 50% discount. Guide dogs for the blind can travel on all trains free of charge with no obligation.

For the transportation of dogs (except guide dogs for the blind), it’s necessary to have a certificate of registration to the canine registry and the health card (or, for dogs of foreign citizens, the "passport of the dog" to replace both documents) to be shown when purchasing the ticket for the animal, where applicable.
