The Place to be for Skiers and non-Skiers

When it comes to skiing, whether you’re advance, intermediate or a beginner, whatever your level or age, you’ll find paradisiac conditions just right for you at the Mont Blanc range. There’s a large diversity of pistes and the free-ride atmosphere will have you wishing the days were longer. For competiors there’s the legendary World Cup Kandahar run, known as ‘‘La Verte des Houches’’.

Plenty of Snow Fun Activites

Here are some of the fun-in-the-sun frolicking you can get involved in: Filmed and timed slalom, enjoy the Snow Park with the family, there’s a Ski Camp with slopes for sledding, snow tubing, curling, tyroliennes for the kids and even biathlon targets to practice your marksmanship. And don’t forget your snow-shoes (of course, you can rent them), ice-skating, ice-scaling and hiking.

There’s unique scenery for the more contemplative at this gateway to the high mountains, via the amazing Aiguille de Midi cable car and the famous Montenvers train to the Mer de Glace. There are permanent exhibitions like ‘‘Agriculture and landscape – the great transformations’’ where you can discover the fragile balance between man and his environment. There is a diversity of villages waiting to be discovered like Servoz steeped in authenticity to and well-preserved traditional architecture at the foot of a Mont Blanc.

Entertainment

You can win a trip on a slope grooming machine at sunset. During the season each week, join in to win your place on the team of one of the professional slope groomers and discover their world. At Les Houches, on Thursdays during the season, the entertainment committee organises a treasure hunt through the ski area, answer the riddles on the map and try to win a prize.

There’s the torchlight descent: every Thursday (in season) at Le Tourchet ski area. Free concerts, children shows, entertainment and events suitable for all ages. For the little ones it’s ski + day care! Take the family on a walk on a prepared 4×4 buggy trail.
