The train station Rennes is a French railway station on the line: Paris-Montparnasse <=> Brest, located South of downtown Rennes, prefecture of the department Ille-et-Vilaine and the region Brittany. It is built near the boundary of the neighborhoods of Saint-Helier, to the North, and Sainte-Therese, to the South. It is about one kilometer from Town Hall, at the Southern extremity of Avenue Janvier between the Boulevards de Beaumont and Solferino (to the North), la Rue de l’Alma (to the West), the Rues de Chatillon, de Quinelieu, and Pierre-Martin (to the South) and Rue Saint-Helier (to the East). It is the main station in the city, which also has the stations: Pontchaillou, La Poterie and Jean Mermoz. Its latitude and longitude geographic coordinates are 48° 06′ 12″ North, 1° 40′ 21″ East.
It is served by the TGV, Ouigo and TER Brittany and is on the train line Paris-Montparnasse <=> Brest, Rennes <=> Redon, Rennes <=> Saint-Malo and Chateaubriant <=> Rennes with 8 (plus sidings) tracks and 4 platforms.
